DECEMBER 2007 Newsletter from The College of Mediators
----------------------
Summer 07 update:
THE UK COLLEGE OF FAMILY MEDIATORS WILL REMAIN OPEN.
We are delighted to inform you that the UK College of Family Mediators will not now be closing in September. It has been officially confirmed by both the Colleges accountant and auditors that the College is solvent and has continued to trade and offer a service to mediators for the whole of this year. Those governors who sought to close the College have now resigned from the College Board, and the College is under the control of its elected representatives.
Letters to members are on there way by post inviting them to an EGM on the 19th September to be held at the October Gallery in London, 1:30 -3:45pm. We hope that those of you who have been supporting the College will be able to come to this meeting and if not, you can appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf.
If you
are a current member and do NOT receive you
r letter by next week, please email the College office:
admin@ukcfm. co.uk.
Current members will be rewarded for their loyalty by having their membership extended for free until the end of the year (31st December 07).
A letter to lapsed members will also be going out and there will be an opportunity to join the College until the end of the year for just £10. If you would like to join the College email admin@ukcfm. co.uk.
The aim of the College Governors is to transform the College into a completely democratically run body, to expand membership to all mediators and to build a vibrant organisation on the firm foundations of the UKCFM.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT AND THOUGHTFUL IDEAS, WHICH REALLY HELPED TO KEEP US GOING THESE PAST FEW MONTHS AND TO ACHIEVE OUR GOAL TO SAVE THE COLLEGE AND ALLOW MEMBERS TO VOTE ON ITS FUTURE.
